2025 Toyota Camry

A black 2025 Toyota Camry XSE is angled left.

Toyota surprised drivers everywhere when they announced that their Camry, the best-selling sedan in the US, will be all-hybrid starting with the 2025 model. Reports state that Toyota’s decision was prompted by stricter fuel economy regulations for vehicles in the US Instead of joining the race to create an ultra-fuel efficient gas engine, Toyota decided to slowly move away from a fully gas engine powertrain. Drivers who still want one in their Camry will have to get a 2024 or older model. But today, let’s look to the future with the 2025 Toyota Camry.

This midsize sedan has always been known for its comfortable cabin, smooth handling, and overall great value it delivers for its price tag. The team at Faith’s Toyota is looking forward to bringing the 2025 model to their drivers once it hits the market. For now, let’s review the performance, comfort, convenience, and safety features drivers have to look forward to. Since 1983, the Camry has been a well-priced, fuel-efficient sedan, and we’re excited to see how Toyota continues to improve upon it.

Performance

A silver 2025 Toyota Camry is shown from the side against a blurred background.

As mentioned earlier, the 2025 Camry will only be available as a hybrid model. Its hybrid powertrain consists of a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine and the fifth-generation Toyota Hybrid System. The fifth-generation THS 5 is praised for its lightweight pair of motors that deliver improved performance compared to the previous THS generation. The result is a super responsible and powerful hybrid system that’s fun to drive.

Performance Features

Front-wheel drive models have a combined horsepower of 225 hp, and all-wheel drive models have a combined horsepower of 232 hp. Requests for acceleration will be met swiftly and impressively. On the topic of Toyota’s electric on-demand all-wheel drive, that’s available on all trims for the 2025 year. No matter which Camry personality appeals most to you, you will have the option of electric, on-demand traction on all wheels when the roads get wet or unpredictable. Thanks to a newly retuned suspension, the Camry also boasts more agile handling, making you feel one with the vehicle as you steer and take corners. Drivers who opt for the Sport grades will enjoy a sport-tuned suspension for more precise handling and a spirited behind-the-wheel experience.

Fuel Economy

Naturally, the question on everyone’s mind is what sort of fuel economy this new hybrid system will achieve. Official fuel economy figures for the 2025 model aren’t out yet. However, with the EPA giving the 2024 hybrid a combined fuel economy of 52 MPG, we can only guess that the new THS 5, with its reduced-weight motors, will see figures at least as good as those (and possibly better).

Safety

The 2025 Camry will carry over the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 from the 2024 model. This is a well-packed suite of driver-assist features that use cameras and sensors to boost driver awareness, prevent collisions, and minimize damage in the event of an accident. All trims for the 2025 year will have the following features:

  • Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection: This system will alert you if you are getting too close to another vehicle, pedestrian, or cyclist. If you do not react in time, the automatic brakes will take over.
  • Lane Departure Alert will notify you if you’re drifting from your lane and gently take over steering to bring you back into it if necessary.
  • Dynamic Radar Cruise Control: this adaptive cruise control will help you maintain the desired distance between your vehicle and the one in front of you, while also maintaining your desired speed when it’s safe to do so.
  • Lane Tracing Assist: this will keep your vehicle centered in its lane when the cruise control is on.
  • Road Sign Assist: this system can register traffic signs, including but not limited to stop signs, yield signs, and speed limit signs, and will display them on the multi-information display.
  • Automatic High Beams: these high beams will automatically turn on in low light settings and off when they detect an oncoming vehicle.
  • Proactive Driving Assist: PDA will partially take over some steering and braking in certain conditions to help you maintain a safe distance and take corners with command.

Additional Safety Features

Drivers who want more advanced driver assist features can opt for the XLE and XSE trims. These will add:

  • Traffic Jam Assist assists with acceleration, deceleration, and lane keeping in stop-and-go traffic.
  • Front-Cross Traffic Alert: this alerts you of vehicles and pedestrians in front of the vehicle via a visual alert, then a buzzing sound.
  • Lane Change Assist: this alerts you of vehicles approaching your blind spot when you’re attempting to change lanes.
  • Panoramic View Monitor: this provides a comprehensive view of what’s happening around your vehicle.
  • Front and Rear Parking Assist with Automatic Braking: this alerts you of obstacles when getting into parking spots and takes over braking when necessary.

Between the standard and available driver-assist features, we feel confident that the 2025 Toyota Camry will provide drivers peace of mind and even reduce the chances of incidents on the road.

Comfort

A close up shows the red leather seats in a 2025 Toyota Camry.

The 2025 Toyota Camry will continue this sedan’s reputation for being one of the most comfortable models in its class. Starting with seating, the SE comes with SofTex-trimmed seats, which mimic the look and feel of leather while being comfortable and easy to maintain. Step up to the XSE trim, and you’ll get a standard leather-trimmed interior. The upper XLE trim enjoys microfiber-trimmed seats that are soft and sophisticated.

Seating Enhancements

If you ever sat in the 2024 model, you’ll notice that the 2025 one offers more supportive seating. That’s because the seat cushions have been thickened and elongated, which should help reduce bodily fatigue after long drives. Additionally, the headrests are softer than in previous models, and their positioning has been changed for better ergonomics.

Other Interior Convenience Features

Drivers who share their Camry with others will appreciate the memory settings for the seat and side mirrors on the XLE trim. This upper-end trim also gets rain-sensing windshield wipers, which automatically turn on at the first sign of precipitation and adjust in intensity in response to the rainfall levels.

All trims will have standard Dual-Zone Automatic Climate Control with rear vents, allowing second-row passengers to control their temperature. Those looking for full-body climate comfort can check out the XLE and XSE trims, which benefit from available front heated and ventilated seats, boasting three levels of heating and cooling. If your cabin is meant to be your oasis away from the stresses of the day, the upper trims of the 2025 Camry will enjoy noise-reduction features that create a quiet cabin. With the Camry being such a popular commuter vehicle, we believe its standard and available comfort features will meet the needs of drivers who spend extended time behind the wheel.
