The 2025 Toyota Camry Is Unlike Any of Its Previous Models

Big things are on the horizon for one of Toyota’s best-selling vehicles, which means if you’re a Green Mountain State driver looking for a Springfield, VT Toyota dealer, you’ll find it at Faith’s Toyota, conveniently located in Westminster. The Toyota Camry has been a staple of the American roadways since 1983, long enough to win over generations of loyal drivers. But as the brand enters its ninth generation of production, Toyota has decided to do something a bit different for the 2025 model year. The Toyota Camry will be presented exclusively as a Hybrid Electric Vehicle, or HEV.

Of course, a hybrid Camry is nothing new. As one of the innovators in the field of electric-powered vehicles, Toyota started producing hybrid options for Camry drivers in 2008. In fact, the system powering the HEV Camry is part of the fifth generation of the Toyota Hybrid System (THS 5). But as part of their initiative to “provide electrification for all,” Toyota will offer the Camry as a hybrid-only option. That’s a great thing for Toyota, the environment, and Camry drivers. Not only will drivers enjoy more efficiency, but there are several other surprises in store for 2025 Camry drivers. Take a look at some of the details Toyota has released about this new generation.

What “Hybrid Electric Vehicle” Means for Drivers

The first thing to know is that there is still an engine. In fact, this will be the first time Toyota has paired its 2.5L 4-cylinder engine with THS 5 in a sedan. The two electric engines improve the Camry’s performance in a variety of ways. The first is in the overall power the Camry has. Using the 2023 Camry as a non-electric example, 203 hp is standard with the 2.5L 4-cylinder engine. In fact, the 2023 hybrid Camry is only capable of 208 hp. That’s not too shabby, but the 2025 version is expected to make a standard 225 net combined hp for front-wheel drive models and 232 net combined hp for all-wheel drive models.

That’s right– the 2025 Camry will be offered with available Electronic On-Demand All-Wheel Drive. While that’s not a new thing– Toyota first tried out the idea in 1987– this is the first time this particular combination of hybrid, Camry, and all-wheel drive has come together. For drivers in a state that doesn’t get snow days, the Camry’s ability to handle winding roads and wet slop really does matter, after all. Furthermore, drivers who select Sport grades will still have the opportunity to enjoy a specially sport-tuned ride. Tweaks to the suspension, transmission, acceleration, and braking capabilities provide drivers with a more responsive ride. For those who like greater agility and handling quickness, these trims are specifically designed for your driving pleasure.

Loaded With Convenient Features

Toyota plans to offer the 2025 Hybrid Camry in at least four trims, which Toyota refers to as “grades.” The four grades were designed by Toyota’s legendary CALTY team in both Newport Beach, California, and Ann Arbor, Michigan, bearing the input of two very different sides of the United States. The SE and XSE grades are sportier in handling and appearance and include a few exclusive features. For example, the SE and XSE are outfitted with a rear lip spoiler as well as racing-inspired functioning air ducts, front-side canards, and a rear diffuser, each of which contributes to the overall aerodynamics and airflow within and around the Camry. Inside, drivers will enjoy track-inspired features such as aluminum sport pedals and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.

The LE and XLE models represent the more luxe side of the Camry. In fact, CALTY revealed that the LE’s interior was inspired by ocean waves, which can be seen in the textures and materials used in the cabin. The XLE’s interior is built around the first use of a leather and Dinamica microfiber upholstery concept, which extends onto the door panels and dashboard for a truly top-shelf look. Of course, the XLE includes other deluxe features, including memory for driver seat and side view mirror adjustments, as well as standard front-side acoustic laminated glass to dampen outside noise. Given the overall noiselessness of a hybrid vehicle, the Hybrid Camry XLE model may join actual luxury cars in quietness and cabin comfort.

But Wait… There’s More

It is possible to drive a hybrid vehicle and enjoy modern creature comforts. The 2025 Camry Hybrid demonstrates this by packing the vehicle with the latest convenience and safety features. Each Camry will include a standard 8-inch touchscreen Toyota Audio Multimedia System, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity and a standard Qi wireless charging pad. A larger 12.3-inch version of this screen will be offered as well. Drivers can also enjoy the convenience of a total of five USB-A and USB-C ports in the front and rear seats, making it possible for everyone to stay connected.

When it comes to connection, Toyota gives Camry drivers the ability to go further. The available Drive Connect system allows those who purchase a 2025 Camry to set up features like a voice-activated Intelligent Assistant. This Assistant can help with audio and temperature controls as well as directions. In fact, drivers can use their Camry to find local points of interest and services.

The 2025 Camry will also include the latest Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 suite of driver assistance features. This package has been updated to include state-of-the-art technology such as Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control and a Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection. Toyota notes that the Proactive Driving Assist feature is able to detect and provide steering and braking assistance to avoid vehicles, pedestrians, bicyclists, and motorcyclists, but no mention is made of moose and Vermont highways. Please drive with caution and obey local traffic laws.

The 2025 Toyota Camry Hybrid Is Coming…

Details are still emerging regarding the 2025 Toyota Camry, but rest assured that Toyota dealers in Springfield and beyond are eagerly awaiting more information to share with interested drivers. As Toyota releases additional facts and information about the Hybrid Camry, the team at Faith’s Toyota will be happy to provide all of the latest information. They’ll also have the most up-to-date details on when you’ll be able to check out the 2025 Camry in person and feel the upgrade in power and performance.

Toyota’s ninth generation of Camry models promises to be very different in many ways. From first-time use of technology to engineering and design specifically intended to keep drivers across the country safe and cozy behind the wheel, there’s a reason why the Toyota Camry has been considered America’s number one best-selling car for so long. The Toyota Camry blends practicality with all the functions and features that matter to drivers across the United States. From harsh winters to humid summers, the Camry has proven that it has the stuff to carry drivers from coast to coast. Furthermore, Toyota has proven experience in engineering hybrid vehicles that translates to safe, reliable vehicles. While an electrified future will take some adjustment on the part of all drivers, Toyota has demonstrated time and again that innovation will take us all further, and its 2025 Camry continues that philosophy.
